The Year of the Tiger
Held on February 20, 2010
Another Chinese New Year was successfully celebrated
on February 20, 2010. With new faces in the
crowd and involved on the stage, this year marked the school's move to a bigger
location. We would like to thank all of those involved that helped make this
event what it was, and with your help, we cannot wait to see what this year
will bring.
The pictures below show several participants during the annual demonstration.
In the upper left hand corner, there is a picture of the Tai Chi students
performing Chen Pan Ling Tai Chi. From left to right, there is Shawn Mitzel,
Samantha Werner, Sifu Rick Melancon, and Sifu Scott Green. In the next picture,
Shawn and Sifu Scott are preparing to perform a two man set with staffs. In
the bottom left, Samantha and Sifu Rick are in the middle of another two man
set where spear faces off against saber. Finally, there is a picture of some
of the students about to pay homage to Master Y.W. Chang.
After the excitement of the demonstration, there was food for all. Several
games and activities were enjoyed by those who came including biking, canoeing,
horse shoes, and volleyball. Fun was had by all with the exception of Sifu
Rick who was unceremoniously dumped in the water shown behind the demonstrators
below.
Of course, there were no hard feelings, and we look forward to the next new
year. Gong Xi Fa Cai!
